GENERAL RULES
The general rules apply to each driver and pit personnel. Drivers’ are expected to know the rules and obey them. The rules set forth have been designed to provide orderly conduct of the sport and are in no way a guarantee against injury, death, or theft to a participant, spectator, or official. These rules shall govern the condition of all events; and by participation in these events, all participants shall be expected to comply with these rules.
Absolutely no alcohol in the pit area before or during event. No fighting allowed. Officials’ will not tolerate any profane language/gestures before, during or after the event. No hot-rodding or speeding in the pit area. If a car does not run a heat, that car does not run a consolation heat. The driver/owner is responsible for his/her pit crew and their conduct and safety. All driver’s and at least one crewmember must attend the driver’s meeting. Any of the above violations subject the car that he/she is associated with to disqualification and asked to depart from the pit area immediately and may be rejected from other events. No refunds will be given for any reason.
Officials will resolve any and all disagreements. All decisions by the officials will be final. Cars may be re-inspected before any prize money is handed out.
Ladies may compete with men. Driver’s must be 16 or older to drive and must have a valid driver’s license. All drivers’ and pit crew between the ages of 16 and 18 years of age must have guardian’s or parent’s signature prior to participation. No one in the pit area under the age of 16 allowed. All driver’s and pit crew must sign a release of liability.
All cars not removed after the event will become the property of the promoter.

SAFETY RULES
1. a full Fire suit, GLOVES, dot full faced helmet, eye protection, and A FOUR point racing seatbelt harness ARE required WHILE DRIVING. NO FACTORY SEATBELTS ALLOWED. Driver’s must wear seatbelt harness, helmet, keep arms in car, and stay in the car at all times; until a red flag is waved and all the cars have stopped, or the race is over. All shut offs must be marked clearly, and if a fire extinguisher is installed, it must be secure. Cars must have working brakes on all four wheels. A SNELL 95 OR BETTER HELMET, FIVE POINT SEATBELT HARNESS, AND NECK BRACE ARE HIGHLY RECOMMENDED.
2. Battery must be removed from stock position and installed inside passenger compartment. It must be bolted securely to the floor with large bolts, nuts, and washers. The battery must be secured over the top with a metal strap, original gas tank strap, or stronger material. No wire, ratchet straps, bungee cords, or sheet metal screws allowed to, secure battery. These are only used to secure the cover over the battery. The battery must be covered with a non-flammable material. Any bolts to secure battery must be 3/8” to 1” and washers 1” to 6”x 6” this also pertains to gas tank, transmission cooler, and driver’s seat.
3. Brace bars must be a 2”- 6" square or round metal bar, 1/4” thick placed directly behind the driver’s seat with a minimum of 6”x 6" metal plate. The plate must be at least 1/8” thick and attached to the ends of brace bar and secured to car by bolting, or welding to the heaviest part of doorpost. It is mandatory that a dash bar and two bars connecting from dash bar be installed along both inside front doors to bar behind seat, they may extend to outer door skin. Brace bars may not extend into the trunk or hood compartment. Car MUST have a four point roll cage with a minimum OF one halo bar connected and welded to the frame in 4 locations. One additional 2”- 6” bar may be welded between the frame rails where the factory gas tank used to be. A left and right knee brace may be installed for safety. There is no limit on brace bars as long as they are for safety.
4. Car numbers AND SIGN must be placed on the roof of the car no smaller than 12", and must be able to be read from both sides. The passenger and drivers front doors must have numbers at least 18" tall. Both the sign and the doors must have a white background with dark colored numbers for easy visibility. Any two digit number on a 1st come 1st serve basis, and no letters allowed. fig. 8 rev 12/07
5. Car preparation, It is mandatory that all glass be removed. Broken glass, dirt, and loose debris must be swept, from the car. Do not break the door windows and leave the glass in the door. The rear seats and interior must be removed, plastic bumper covers, head lights, tail lights, tail lenses, all chrome trim, interior and exterior door handles, door lock cylinders, license plate brackets, luggage racks, trailer hitches, and dash must be removed prior to admittance to the race track.
6. driving, This is a race, no intentionally hitting any carS. Do not hit the driver’s door!!! Do not use driver’s door as a shield. Sometimes these do accidentally occur, but if it looks intentional, or careless, driver could be disqualified. The race will be stopped for bumpers or axles in the arena and removed for everyone’s safety.
7. Driver’s door, Optional, a MAXIMUM of 12” wide, and MAXIMUM of 1/2” thick plate, 4” past door seam to brace outside of driver’s door. The plate MUST conform to door and not stick out. No grader blades allowed anywhere.
8. firewall, Any holes in firewall must be covered with a non-flammable material to prevent competitor from being sprayed by hot oil, or water.
9. Gas tank, The original tank must be removed and a leak proof fuel cell or boat tank must be placed behind the driver’s seat. The gas tank and tank lids must not leak even during a roll over and tank vents must have rollover one-way check valve. A PLASTIC TANK MAY BE USED ONLY IF IT IS IN A 1/8” METAL BOX AROUND ALL SIX SIDES with a minimum of two 1/2” drain holes in bottom of box for protection. No 5-gallon gas cans allowed. The tank must be bolted securely to the floor with large bolts, nuts, and washers. The tank must be secured over top with a chain, original gas tank straps, or stronger material. No bungee cords, ratchet straps, sheet metal screws, or wire allowed to, secure gas tank. These are only used to secure the cover over the tank. The gas tank, electric fuel pump, and all fuel lines must be covered with a non-flammable material. NO FUEL LINES THROUGH THE BACK SEAT AREA; ALL LINES MUST BE ALONG FRAME RAIL OR INSIDE OF PASSENGER COMPARTMENT OF THE CAR. (This is to prevent lines from rupture). No straight alcohol or nitrous may be used, and there is a 6 gallon fuel limit.
10. Transmission and engine oil coolers allowed in passenger compartment only if all exposed lines are covered with a non- flammable material (Including braided lines). Coolers must be securely fastened and placed in a metal box or have a metal shield to protect against ruptures and spraying of hot oil on driver.
11. Windshield bars must be welded or bolted on car, to protect the driver (3/8” bolts, nuts, and washers MINIMUM). three bars from the top of the windshield to the dash area must be installed and all bars must be in front of driver a Minimum of 12” apart. Bars must be a minimum of 5/8" diameter, or strap 1” wide 1/8” thick.
CAR RULES
1. Any, American made sedan or station wagon over 106” wheelbase may compete. No 4x4’s, ambulance, hearse, truck, limousine, compact, or foreign cars.
2. Body mounts may be removed. Body bolts may be replaced with up to a 1" bolt with a 1/4” thick 6”x 6" washer on top and bottom. If car has a factory body mount and hole in the frame, a bolt may be installed through it.
3. Bumpers and bumper brackets must be an automotive type and may be installed in any position front or rear. Front bumpers must appear stock, no aftermarket or homemade bumpers allowed. The rear bumper may be removed and a 2” to 6” pipe may be welded between frame rails. Front and rear bumpers must be secured or removed. Bumper ends may be trimmed or folded around, and may be welded to the body. Bumper brackets and bumper may be welded solid. A 4” wide, 3/8” thick, 12” long strap may be welded from bumper to body, front and rear. On front bumper, the strap may not be directly in front of radiator. Bumpers must be stock height, if it looks too high; it is, and will have to be let down, or car will not run per judge’s discretion.
4. Engine must only be an automotive type. Motor mounts may be welded solid, chaining or cabling motor is okay.
5. Extra reinforcements, No # 9 wire, sheet metal screws, chains, cables, bolts, or added metal unless specified in rules.
6. Fenders front and rear may be rolled, welded, and bolted with no added metal.
7. Frame and body may be welded together. Frames may be reinforced, but no solid or filled frames. The same thickness metal as frame must be used for any reinforcement, if it is excessive in any way, they will be cut at judges’ discretion. fig. 8 rev 12/07
8. Hood must be welded, bolted, or chained for safety and must remain in factory position, if there is an overhang on the hood it may be bent down. A 6”x 6” washer 1/4” thick MAXIMUM, must be used on top of hood bolts to keep them from pulling through. Hood may be welded solid with 3/8” filler rod. When bolting hood, front two hood bolts must go through the frame and front radiator support with no mount. When chaining or bolting, it must be a MINIMUM of 4 locations. The bolts must be a MINIMUM of 5/8” and a MAXIMUM of 1”, (Bolts must not be directly in front of radiator), if chained, a MINIMUM of 1/4” and a MAXIMUM of 3/8” thick. There must be two 12" holes cut into hood for fires and the tin may bolted or welded around each hole. All cooling fans must be covered or removed. Full cover front ends are acceptable with rivets only.
9. Radiator must remain in stock position. Radiator blow by tubes must be secured and remain pointing down at all times. No extra cooling allowed for radiators. Original or electric fan are okay and ratchet straps may be used to secure radiator. The radiator may be boxed in with a MAXIMUM of 2”x 2” 1/4” angle iron. Radiator reinforcements may not extend past the outside of frame rails, and two 2”x 2” 1/4” thick angle iron from radiator support to top of frame, in front of control arm/A-frame. Air conditioner condenser may be welded to front of radiator support.
10. Rear end must be automotive or full floater LT. Truck type. Rear end may be braced. Cars may have a MAXIMUM of 9 leafs, 3/8” thick, and 2” stager. A total of 2-spring helper clamps in front of axle and 2-rear of axle per side. These clamps must only be a MAXIMUM of 2” wide and 5” long. The rear spring shackles may be relocated. Coil spring cars may be converted to leaf springs. Coil spring cars may wire or weld springs in place. Rear control arms may be lengthened, or shortened to achieve driveline angle.
11. Shocks must have 2" minimum travel. No solid shocks.
12. STEERING and suspension components may be interchanged and reinforced. Steering columns may be altered to prevent steering loss.
13. Tires any ply with a MAXIMUM of 31” height. Tire inside a tire, tubes, foam filled tires, implement tread tires; valve stem protectors, reinforced rims, and grease on tires are all okay. No water or other ballast in tires, studded tires, split rims, or paddle rims. All wheel weights must be removed from rims.
14. Trunk may have four bolts installed through the trunk lids or roof on wagons and may go through the frame. The back 40% of trunk may be tucked inside of trunk. Bolts 1" with 6”x 6" washers MAXIMUM top and bottom. The whole trunk may be slid inside of trunk and welded in. Trunk may be crushed, but must be able to see inside for inspection. The rear decking cover in station wagons must be bolted, chained, welded, or removed completely. A 10” inspection hole must be cut if cover is not removed.
15. WEIGHTs may be added, they must be between frame rails, behind the rear wheels. Weights may not extend outside frame rails; they must be secured to the frame with a minimum of two 5/8” bolts per frame rail. If weight is spanning across frame rails, a minimum of two 5/8” bolts per side must be used. Weights MUST NOT be welded down.
16. Welding, All exterior and interior body and frame seams may be welded. Doors, trunk, and tailgate may be welded with metal no more than 4” wide maximum or 2" overlap on seam. If doors tailgate, or trunk are not welded, they must be bolted or chained with same size bolts or chains as hood IN A minimum OF 2 LOCATIONS PER DOOR, TRUNK, or tailgate for safety. Tops of doors may be beat down and welded with no added metal. Rust holes or metal tears may be patched. Use a maximum of 1 layer of 18-gage metal to patch 2” past rust or tear. When patching use only enough metal to patch hole or tear, or just weld it.
